Research & Development

The Research & Development (R&D) team conducts engineering design, development, and testing for certain Toyota and Lexus vehicles, works with North American suppliers to evaluate parts and materials, and conducts powertrain design, tuning, evaluation, environmental safety and emissions certification. The R&D team also engages in prototype development and materials and technical research.

R&D is advancing next-generation technologies to support Toyota's vision of a sustainable, mobile society. With each new innovation, TMNA R&D demonstrates that we're not just keeping pace - we're setting the pace.
